June 2016 Vice President Rachel Flaskey has been selected by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) as a 2016 40 Under Forty honoree. This recognition program is designed to highlight the accomplishments of business valuation industry professionals under the age of 40. “The NACVA and the Consultants’ Training Institute (CTI) are founded on excellence, superior quality, and the spirit of pioneering with visionary leaders across all spectrums of the accounting and financial consulting professions regardless of affiliation with NACVA and the CTI. The 40 Under Forty recognition program was designed to give voice and opportunity to the next generation of industry mavericks recognizing their contributions to the profession, their communities, and their contributions yet to come,” states Brien K. Jones, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for NACVA and the CTI. Rachel’s major contribution to the valuation industry is her prolific writing. Her bi-monthly column for The Business Journals educates the public on current issues related to business valuation and financial forensics, such as those addressed in a recent article entitled Valuation and Key Attributes That Start-Up Companies Should Know. Her writings make the complex subjects of valuation and financial analysis accessible to the general public and she is a great advocate for the industry and the profession. In addition to her own writing, Rachel also works with other firms to create pieces such as a recent practice aid produced in collaboration with Sageworks entitled Common Errors Found in Valuation Reports. This joining of forces promotes cooperation and sharing of best practices across the industry. Rachel also volunteers to mentor college students, supporting the career development of the next generation of valuation professionals. Rachel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Certified in Financial Forensics. She takes part in many industry organizations, including the American Institute of CPAs, the South Dakota CPA Society, and the Minnesota Society of CPAs where she serves on the Business Valuation Conference Task Force. Rachel is an authority within the business valuation industry and will continue to be a great asset to Chartwell and our clients for many years to come. All 40 Under Forty honorees will be showcased at NACVA’s 2016 Annual Consultants’ Conference in San Diego, CA, June 8 through 11.
