Managing Director Mark Gehrig Retires After 42 Years in Business Valuation

It is with mixed emotions that Chartwell announces the retirement of Managing Director Mark Gehrig.  For those that know Mark, he is one of the most unassuming gentlemen you’ll ever meet.  At the same time, his detailed knowledge of finance and valuation allowed him to forge invaluable life-long relationships with clients, business partners, work colleagues, and even competitors.  Within the business appraisal industry, Mark developed an impeccable reputation for his valuation work relating to financial statement reporting, tax reporting (including gift and estate planning), buy-sell agreement negotiations, and general corporate planning across all industries.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Mark was a Director in the Forensic and Valuation Services practice of Grant Thornton in Minneapolis.  He was co-owner of Jabs, Gehrig & Company where he led the Business Valuation Services line and also served as a Manager in the Valuation Services group at Arthur Andersen LLP.  Mark enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to deepen Chartwell’s specialized valuation services in 2012 as a Managing Director in Chartwell’s Valuation practice.  He will retire after practicing valuation for more than 42 years.

Mark has been a “valued” partner and friend and we will miss his wisdom, insightful thinking, and ability to forge lasting relationships with everyone he meets.  We are excited for Mark and his wife Lisa as they embark on the next chapter of their lives together.  Please join us in wishing Mark the very best during his retirement!
